Quick start
This section explains how to quickly familarize with a VALMIDO device.
Tip
Please read other sections if deeper instructions are needed.
Power on is performed by pressing right button.
Power off is performed by pressing right button for at least two seconds and then released after powering off message is displayed
Before any usage with your PC or smartphone, a Bluetooth pairing must be performed. For MacOS and Linux please follow instructions detailed in section Pairing.
Overview of the User Experience:
Initial Step: Load the VALMIDO device battery on a standard Qi wireless charger used for smartphone charging
Pairing: Pair the VALMIDO device to your companion device (PC, mobile, or tablet)
`VALMIDO device` Management: Reset the VALMIDO device in order to become its unique user, then set its PIN code and enrol fingerprints
You can do the above operations with the Valmido Companion App (download to your phone or PC). If you don’t have this application on hand you can also use the following alternatives:
using Chrome for Mac & Linux (throuh ‘Settings’ -> ‘Privacy and security’ -> ‘Security’ -> ‘Manage security keys’)
or, on Windows, using native menus (through ‘Settings’ -> ‘Accounts’ -> ‘Security key’ -> ‘Manage’)
After the above initial steps you can use the VALMIDO device for FIDO2 passwordless authentication:
Step 1: One time Registration to each service
Step 2: Login to these services indefinitely. You can also unregister from these services.
Anytime you use your VALMIDO device, indications will be provided both on your companion device and on your VALMIDO device screen. In all cases simply follow instructions given on your VALMIDO device screen.
